This hammock review is for the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro – a very well made hammock that’s perfect for serious campers who like the idea of camping in the trees rather than on the ground. It is a well-designed product with excellent build quality and it has a number of features that set it apart from the competition as well.
The first thing that is likely to stand out about the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro is its netting. This is a hammock with mosquito net, which means that you’ll be able to keep yourself safe from bugs and bites while you nap. The mosquito net is also very well designed as it uses overhead ropes in order to stay lifted above the sleeper.
This means it’s away from your face and you can still sit up to read a book or enjoy a drink – without the claustrophobia. In fact, it actually makes you feel that much more cosy and at home as you’ll be inside your own little cocoon, safe from bugs, beasties and even light rain!
At the same time, it also sports a strangely attractive khaki/olive green colorscheme which makes it somewhat camouflaged and very fitting for use in the trees. This really feels like you’re a part of nature and it’s a very good choice if you want to sleep among the trees and not stand out in something garish green!
That thoughtful design extends to every other aspect of this product. For instance, it comes with all the additional accessories and gear that you should expect from your hammocks.
That includes the starter rope kit, net suspension grade and nautical grade carabiners, meaning that you can get it set up and going right away – this is something that you won’t normally get use of!
The mosquito cover also has the advantage of zipping up very easily. Just sit in and do up the zip in order to set yourself up for the night!
Another great feature is the ability to flip the hammock over. This means that if you want to use it as a normal hammock without the netting, you have that option too. This is a better choice when you’re just resting during the day rather than sleeping during the night.
That fabric is made from some very high quality stuff too. It’s 100% nylon and uses a triple-stitched reinforcement for both the mesh and the fabric to boost the strength. This makes it highly resilient and very comfortable as well.
A handy pocket that lets you reach your items while you camp rounds off the package and makes for a simply fantastic sleeping experience.
The only reason this might not be a suitable option, is if you intend on using a separate mosquito net and surrounding another hammock. If you have a hammock already, then check out this review.
All in all, this is a very well designed and built hammock that is clearly aimed at an audience that is serious about camping and staying comfortable and safe while they do. From the aesthetics to the features, this is a pro grade hammock!
